Norwich Mill, Rochdale - Derelict Manchester:

Derelict Manchester:

A view of the hidden parts around the inner sections around the city centre of Manchester, UK and beyond . How you perceive these derelict sites could be morbid, yet exciting.

Norwich Mill, Rochdale

Originally built in the 1870s, it had the dual function of being a cotton spinning & weaving mill.

The mill on Norwich St was owned by John Pilling, in 1891 listing  was known as  the Norwich Street and Wellfield Mills; which had  40,000 spindles, 188/328 twist, 148/408 weft; 1,500 looms, mexicans, twills, printers, shirtings, &c.; Manchester warehouse-8, Mosley street. Pay day last Wed. Telegrams, "Pilot, Rochdale." ... On the 25th May 2011 a fire broke out on the premises that was owned by a company called Sartex Quilts & Textiles which totally destroyed the building, ever since then the building has remained in a dangerous state.
